Faces
Portraits, for me, are negotiations in a tight space: a face, a few colors, and a kind of attention that would rather be candid than polished. I like modest formats where every mark has to count — where drawing and oil share the same stage.
At the moment the work shown here is held in a private collection; the group may grow, but the focus stays the same: a face caught in a moment that refuses the generic idea of a "portrait."
